According to RT (Russia), recently, Western countries have sent a series of weapons and military equipment to Kiev. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that this was not enough to deal with Russia's military campaign that began a month ago.
CNN reported that Ukraine is asking Washington for “hundreds more missiles” than previously requested, citing sources familiar with the matter. The request comes amid Ukraine’s ongoing arms shortages, according to a document submitted to U.S. lawmakers.
On March 25, speaking to leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member states, President Zelensky said he had not received a clear answer to his request for aid of 1% of the total number of tanks from these countries.
NATO and the US have refused to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine. They have also rejected a proposal to provide Soviet-era fighter jets to Kiev, fearing that such a move could spark a direct conflict with Russia. However, the military alliance has said it will always support Ukraine. Britain and Sweden have pledged to send more anti-tank weapons to Kiev. US President Joe Biden has also said that the weapons have been delivered to the country.
The White House began consultations on March 24 on the transfer of anti-ship missiles to Ukraine. “There may be some technical challenges in making that happen, but it is something we are consulting with our allies about and starting to work on,” an official told Reuters.
