Ukraine opens fourth criminal case against former President Poroshenko
A fourth criminal case has been opened against former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, related to his alleged abuse of judicial power, lawyer Andrei Portnov, former deputy head of the office of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, said on Monday.
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine, based on Portnov's complaint, opened a criminal case on treason against former President Petro Poroshenko. The lawyer claimed that Poroshenko committed treason by sending Ukrainian sailors to the Kerch Strait.

In addition, according to Portnov, a lawsuit has been filed against Poroshenko for allegedly legalizing $300 million when selling the Kuznya na Rybalsky plant. The bureau has also registered a statement about the former head of state's illegal seizure of the Direct TV channel.
Portnov has also filed charges against Petro Poroshenko for money laundering and tax evasion, the lawyer plans to request the seizure of the former Ukrainian president's assets.
“Currently, Poroshenko is under investigation under three criminal proceedings for treason, money laundering, abuse of office, legalization of offshore company income and tax evasion, today we have issued a fourth statement accusing Poroshenko of abuse of judicial power,” Portnov said on his Telegram channel.
He noted that dozens of lawsuits have been prepared, but in the coming weeks, work will focus on increasing informational pressure on law enforcement agencies and preparing petitions, complaints and other procedural documents within the framework of four registered criminal proceedings.
