Transporting 720 bottles of smuggled wine for sale during Tet

(Baonghean.vn)- On the morning of December 22, 2015, Vinh City Police successfully broke up the 125L case, arresting a subject transporting 720 bottles of foreign wine, worth about 300 million VND.

At the Ben Thuy bridgehead, the authorities discovered a truck with license plate 30H-1092 driven by Le Quang Vinh (born in 1976), residing in Nguyen Thai Hoc ward, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province, traveling from the South to the North with unusual signs.

When asked to stop the car for inspection, the police discovered that the car was carrying 720 bottles of foreign wine branded Ballantines, worth a total of about 300 million VND.

Upon inspection, all of the above mentioned wines did not have any documents proving their origin. Vinh confessed to transporting the wines to the northern provinces for consumption during the Binh Than New Year.

Currently, Vinh City Police have made a record to seize all the smuggled wine mentioned above to complete the case file to handle the subject according to the law and continue to investigate and expand the case.
