Operation of spillway of Vuc Mau lake before storm No. 4

(Baonghean.vn) - To be proactive in flood and storm prevention as well as to minimize human and property damage during storm No. 4, at 2:50 p.m. on July 25, Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise operated the spillway of Vuc Mau Lake.

Currently, the water level in Vuc Mau Lake is at +19.15m. The Enterprise will operate and open 1-5 gates in turn until the level drops to a stable level of +18.6m. It will stop and will not open the gates at night.

The tide is currently high, so the water discharge is expected to cause flooding in some areas. The water discharge is estimated at over 50m3/s and will gradually decrease as the lake water level drops.

People and agencies have been informed in advance so they have proactively developed plans to evacuate people and property to limit damage. At the same time, Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise has sent staff to closely monitor the impact of flood discharge on upstream and downstream areas.
