Away from home for many days, driver 'lost his wife' to his neighbor
Unable to stop his neighbor from "cheating" on his wife, Vinh slashed her, causing 67% injury.
On June 27, Ninh Binh Provincial People's Court sentenced Nguyen Van Vinh (38 years old) to 5 years in prison for murder.
The verdict determined that Vinh's family and Mr. Phan Quoc Dat (29 years old) were neighbors. When Vinh was away from home for many days as a driver, Mr. Dat often came to visit and developed feelings for Vinh's 27-year-old wife.

Knowing that her husband was having an affair, Mr. Dat's wife beat him up and informed Vinh's family. Vinh asked for a divorce and repeatedly asked Mr. Dat to end the affair.
On January 27, seeing Mr. Dat walking past his house, Vinh called him in to talk and slashed him, causing 65% damage to his health.
At court, the victim said he had received 70 million VND in compensation and asked for a reduced sentence for Vinh.
