On October 19, Quynh Luu District Police said that the unit was detaining Nguyen Thi Thoa (born 1978, residing in Quynh Giang Commune, Quynh Luu District) to clarify her behavior of borrowing money from people and then fleeing.
From 2017 until her escape, due to business losses, Nguyen Thi Thoa borrowed money from 15 people in Quynh Giang and Quynh Hong communes of Quynh Luu district. When borrowing, Thoa always promised to pay high interest rates.
According to incomplete statistics, the total amount of money that Thoa borrowed from people was nearly 3 billion VND, of which the highest amount was 300 million VND. After being unable to pay, Thoa fled the area.
The case is being further investigated.
