(Baonghean.vn) - Hundreds of offshore fishing boats of fishermen in Quynh Luu (Nghe An) returned to shore on the morning of October 26, bringing back abundant seafood. Fishermen were excited because seafood was in season and had good prices.
Receiving information about the monsoon through the Icom system, yesterday afternoon and this morning (October 26), hundreds of offshore fishing boats of Quynh Luu fishermen returned to Lach Quen port.
During the monsoon season, fishermen's boats can fish at sea for 8-10 days, so they can get a lot of seafood. Fisherman Nguyen Van Hung in Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) said: "If we don't go back to avoid the wind, we plan to return to shore to sell seafood in the near future. During the 10-day trip to sea, our boat caught more than 10 tons of various types of fish, earning more than 300 million VND."

To promptly purchase seafood when the ship returns, traders mobilize vehicles to wait right at the wharf. Although it is raining, the fishermen's working atmosphere is still bustling. On the ships, fishermen use winches to lift each tray of fish onto the ship and then transport them to shore.
According to fishermen, recently, the purchase price of seafood has increased compared to previous months. Anchovies are currently purchased at 14,000 VND/kg (an increase of 4,000 VND) compared to last month; silver pomfret is from 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg (an increase of 10,000 VND/kg); needlefish is 120,000 VND/kg (an increase of 20,000 - 30,000 VND/kg)...

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quynh Luu district, as of October 2019, the whole district exploited more than 61,000 tons of seafood/the annual plan was 70,000 tons. In particular, the output in October increased dramatically with more than 10,000 tons (compared to the same period last year, an increase of 2,000 tons).
Mr. Bui Xuan Truc - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quynh Luu district said that when the weather is favorable, fishermen will continue to go out to sea to catch seafood. This year, it is expected to reach and exceed the set plan.
