Viettel officially launches 4G network nationwide
(Baonghean.vn) – On April 18, Viettel Nghe An held a ceremony to launch the 4G network. This event is part of a series of activities to launch the Viettel 4G network deployed nationwide by the Military Telecommunications Group.
With the desire to create the best quality ultra-broadband connection infrastructure right from the start of service provision, Viettel made a strategic decision: Deploying 4G widely to rural, remote and isolated areas.
In Nghe An, Viettel has deployed nearly 800 4G transceiver stations, covering 21 districts and towns. 4G waves are also available in remote communes of Tuong Duong, Ky Son, and Que Phong districts, serving the people's need for super-fast internet connection.

With 36,000 base stations, covering 95% of the population, Viettel is the first network operator in the world to have nationwide 4G coverage as soon as it started providing services. Viettel will provide diverse 4G packages for each customer segment with prices expected to be 40-60% cheaper than 3G. Viettel will be the first network operator in the world to coordinate with competent authorities to provide free basic knowledge of health care, education, and support for 4G service users through the 4G-Plus application. |
It is expected that from now until the end of April, Viettel Nghe An will complete broadcasting 1,100 4G broadcasting stations, covering 100% of communes in Nghe An province.
With the average download speed of 4G Viettel will fluctuate at 30 - 50 Mbps, 7-10 times faster than the currently deployed 3G network.
Viettel 4G network not only brings many benefits to customers, but is also a platform to widely apply information technology in many fields such as healthcare, education, agriculture, tourism, especially developing e-Government, supporting public administrative activities...
Along with offering flexible and suitable packages, Viettel will provide 4G-supported devices at a price of just over 1.3 million VND, and support free 4G SIM card exchange; so that many people can own and experience the benefits of 4G.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Luan - Director of Viettel Nghe An affirmed: "Contrary to the concerns of many people that as technology develops, it becomes more difficult to access because of high costs, suppliers will consider the problem of benefits and forget the poor, remote areas, Viettel builds a 4G network "for everyone.
Viettel will not let any Vietnamese stand outside the flow and development of technology. We wish to bring 4G to all Nghe An people, no matter where they are, even the most remote places of the province.
