The horrific confrontation between a passenger bus and a truck in Nghe An through the victim's account
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Khai, the victim in the accident between a passenger bus and a truck, said that while the passengers on the bus were sleeping, they suddenly heard a loud bang and everyone was thrown forward.
On the afternoon of October 15, a working delegation of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee led by Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Director of the Department of Transport and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee visited the victims of the accident between a truck and a sleeper bus that occurred on Vinh bypass at noon the same day.

(Baonghean.vn) - An accident between a truck and a passenger bus going in the opposite direction on Vinh bypass (Nghe An) left the truck's assistant dead and trapped in the cabin, while the driver was injured.

The accident killed one person and injured 16 others. At the hospital, 9 patients are currently being cared for and treated. According to doctors, 3 of these 9 patients are seriously injured: broken legs, broken collarbones, collapsed lumbar vertebrae... The remaining 6 patients have less serious injuries.
Kindly inquiring about the health of the patients, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien affirmed that the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee will coordinate with the hospital to create the best treatment conditions for the patients.

On behalf of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien presented 2 million VND to each patient to share with the victims after the accident.
Patient Nguyen Van Khai (30 years old, residing in Hung Yen province) is still haunted by the accident. He recounted that at around 5am this morning, he got on a sleeper bus from Nuoc Ngam Bus Station (Hanoi). "After stopping for lunch in Thanh Hoa, I got on the bus and just took a nap when suddenly I heard a loud bang. My whole body was thrown forward, hitting the bed and the bus, making me dizzy," Khai said.

When he woke up, Khai saw everyone on the bus screaming for help and trying to get out. The front of the sleeper bus and the truck were both crushed. Just a few minutes later, Khai and 15 other passengers were taken to the hospital.
Previously, at around 11:40 a.m., the sleeper bus with license plate 48B-00480 traveling from North to South on the Vinh City bypass suddenly collided with a truck with license plate 89C-18561 traveling in the opposite direction.
The accident resulted in the death of the truck driver on the spot. Dozens of passengers on the sleeper bus were injured and taken to the hospital by 5 ambulances. At the time of the accident, there was heavy rain and slippery roads at the scene.
Nghi Loc District Police coordinated with the Provincial Police Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue to break into the truck cabin, take out the body of the assistant driver, and regulate and direct traffic on the Vinh City bypass.
