Case of students attacking officers and escaping from drug rehabilitation camp: 9 ringleaders detained
An Giang Provincial Police continue to mobilize forces to search for and apprehend 22 remaining students, while temporarily detaining 9 ringleaders to assist with the investigation.
On October 7, An Giang Provincial Police said that 292 out of more than 314 students escaped.drug rehabilitation centerNo. 2 (My Thuan commune) was brought to headquarters.
The police also detained 9 ringleaders for disturbing public order to serve the investigation and handling.
Previously, at around 12:48 pm on October 5, some students at the drug rehabilitation facility did not comply with the rules and regulations of the management, causing conflicts and arguments, leading to fighting and causing trouble.
Taking advantage of this situation, some extremist students took the lead and lured many others to fight against the task force, broke the fence and escaped. According to statistics from the provincial police, there were 314 students who escaped.
Immediately after the incident, the Provincial Police Department was present at the scene, directing the mobilization of officers and soldiers in 102 communes, wards, and special zones to organize an all-night chase.
The police continue to deploy forces to patrol, block, and control people and vehicles participating in traffic to search for and mobilize the remaining students in hiding.
An Giang Provincial Police advise people not to cover up or harbor; organizations and individuals providing transportation services should not accept to transport or assist, and should report when discovering escaped students.
