Overcoming Thai Hoa Children's School, Hung Nguyen Children's School won the second ticket to the quarter-finals in group A.

In the first two matches, Hung Nguyen Children's and Thai Hoa Children's both got 3 points after 1 win and 1 loss.

Before this match, both teams were temporarily ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Nhi Dong Dien Chau - the team that had secured a place in the quarterfinals after 2 wins and 1 draw. Therefore, this match is a direct competition for the remaining quarterfinal ticket of group A.

The two teams maintained a balanced game in the second half. The first scoring opportunity in this half belonged to Nhi Dong Thai Hoa when number 11 Nguyen Dao Quang Phu rushed down to receive a favorable pass from his teammate to face goalkeeper Nguyen Hoang Long. In the 36th minute, after a side kick, the ball hit the post and bounced out and number 4 Nguyen Van Phat rushed in to head the ball past goalkeeper Tran Bao Trong.

The score of 3-1 was maintained until the end of the match. With this result, Hung Nguyen Children's and Dien Chau Children's were the 2 teams that won the right to enter the quarterfinals in group A.
