Do Thanh Commune receives certificate of recognition as a commune meeting new rural standards

(Baonghean.vn) - In the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the first days of the New Year of the Goat 2015, on the morning of March 1, Do Thanh commune - Yen Thanh district solemnly held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of the commune meeting the National New Rural Standards. After 4 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Do Thanh commune has focused on doing a good job of propaganda and mobilization, creating a change in awareness among each cadre, party member and the masses. Through organizing tours for cadres to study the model, the commune has selected appropriate content and criteria for implementation, avoiding unnecessary waste, associated with good implementation of grassroots democracy regulations according to the motto "People know, people discuss, people voluntarily participate and people enjoy".

Along with mobilizing internal resources and people's strength, the commune also maximizes investment capital, calling on successful children working far from home to contribute to building their homeland. Thanks to that, in 2014, Do Thanh commune completed 19/19 criteria, with a total implementation cost of nearly 136 billion VND, of which people contributed over 65 billion VND. Thanks to focusing on promoting comprehensive economic development, people's lives have been increasingly improved, average income per capita reached 24 million VND/year, the poverty rate was only 4.35%; the political system was maintained, the rural appearance is improving day by day.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Dinh Viet Hong awarded the certificate of recognition for the commune meeting the new rural standards and presented Do Thanh commune with a welfare project worth 500 million VND; at the same time, he acknowledged and commended the results that Do Thanh commune achieved in the National Target Program on new rural construction, hoping that local officials and people would continue to promote the achieved results, so that those results can develop sustainably with higher quality.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 4 individuals, and the District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement of joining hands to build new rural areas./.
