After 30 years of construction and development, the town has achieved many important achievements, rapidly changing the socio-economic landscape, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The average growth rate of gross domestic product in the period 2010 - 2015 reached 12.6%/year.

The economic structure has shifted strongly and in the right direction, agriculture - fishery accounts for only 14.5%; industry - construction and services - trade account for 86.5%. Average income is 22.25 million VND/person/year, 10 times higher than in 1986.
