(Baonghean.vn) - Extended vehicles carrying "bandit ore" are blatantly "ruining" residential roads in Con Cuong and Anh Son districts and National Highway 7, affecting people's lives and causing serious traffic insecurity.

On June 29-30, on National Highway 7, every day, dozens of large, oversized, and overloaded vehicles carrying "soil" appeared, traveling from Cay Chanh Bridge (Dinh Son Commune, Anh Son District) to Do Luong District. Along the way, this convoy of vehicles dropped soil and rocks, affecting the safety of traffic participants. Photo: Thanh Cuong

The location of the vehicles expanding and taking over the "land" is located at the border between Thach Tien village, Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong district) and Lang Chet village, Tho Son commune (Anh Son district). These vehicles have "ruined" the roads through Thach Ngan and Thanh Son communes (Con Cuong). Photo: Thanh Chung

The Cay Chanh - An Ngai district road leading to the area where the "soil" was taken has also been "plowed up" by these heavy trucks with countless "potholes" and "craters". Photo: Thanh Chung

The road is narrow, with heavy trucks occupying the entire road, making it difficult for people to travel on this road, and there is a high risk of accidents. According to local people, from around 3am to 8pm, dozens of heavy trucks pass through here to enter Khe Chet and then exit, carrying heavy loads of soil. This situation has been going on for nearly a year. On average, they run once for 4-5 days and then stop for about a month. People have complained many times but no authorities have taken any action. On the afternoon of June 30, in the area where the "soil" is being taken, two excavators were operating at full capacity, digging into mountains and hills; dozens of heavy trucks continuously went in and out to take the "soil" away. In the “soil” that was scooped up and transported, there was a lot of dark brown ore, kidney-shaped crystals, with a dense or porous structure. According to geological research projects: Thach Tien village area, Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong) has limonite iron ore of weathered origin. This ore is used as an additive to adjust the cement production industry, and was previously banned from mining. Photo: Thanh Chung
On the afternoon of June 30, the reporter contacted the leaders of Con Cuong district and the leaders of Anh Son district police to learn about the current situation of "bandit" ore mining and overloaded vehicles on district roads and National Highway 7. And from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the traffic police and economic police of Anh Son district police temporarily detained 4 oversized and overloaded vehicles transporting ore and brought them to headquarters. To ensure traffic safety and prevent illegal mining, Con Cuong and Anh Son districts and relevant authorities are requested to investigate and strictly handle violations by individuals and businesses involved. Photo: Thanh Cuong
