Electric vehicles with integrated technology are the trend of 2023
According to Automotive World - a British auto website, electric cars with integrated technology are the trend in the auto market in 2023. Technology is also the top factor when Vietnamese people choose electric cars, based on survey results with nearly 2,000 car users.
Electric vehicles are associated with modern technology and initiative.
In Vietnam, advanced technological features are one of the driving forces behind many customers buying electric cars. After nearly half a year on the market, VinFast's high-tech VF 8 model has made a big mark in the D-SUV segment. According to the representative of the Vietnamese car company, in December 2022, this model set a sales record when it surpassed other gasoline models, becoming the best-selling model in the segment.

As one of the first people to own and drive the VF 8 in the past 6 months, auto expert Trinh Le Hung of Autodaily said that VinFast's D-SUV model has 3 major advantages compared to cars of the same price range in Vietnam, which are: performance, comfort and smart driving assistance technology.
Autodaily experts highly appreciate the smart independent front suspension system, multi-point steering rear suspension similar to sports cars, combined with a sturdy chassis system to help the car operate more smoothly on a variety of terrains. In addition, according to Mr. Hung, the electric motor on the VF 8 has the ability to accelerate quickly and smoothly. This is also an outstanding advantage of electric vehicles. In contrast, many gasoline models in higher segments still "grow" and have a lot of delay when accelerating due to the structure of the gearbox.

Mr. Trinh Le Hung was also impressed with VinFast's advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and intelligent virtual assistant. "For traditional cars, users press buttons to operate the car. With modern electric cars, the driver gets in the car and gives orders, much more proactively," Mr. Hung shared.
Sharing the same opinion, expert Nguyen Manh Thang (Whatcar Vietnam) said that thanks to the camera and sensor system equipped throughout the car, VF 8 possesses many impressive ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, driver monitoring system, traffic sign recognition, door opening warning... These technologies make the driving experience more leisurely and safer even in complex traffic conditions in urban Vietnam. He also highly appreciated VF 8's ability to recognize different objects on the road.
Electric cars get smarter over time than gasoline cars
Electric vehicles have a big advantage in the automotive industry thanks to advanced technologies that gasoline vehicles hardly have. Electric vehicles are likened to "smartphones" with 4 wheels. The features on the vehicle can be controlled by software and most importantly, can be easily updated, making the vehicle smarter over time. Sharing from the electric vehicle user community in Vietnam shows that the smart features and driving support on the VF 8 are more complete after half a year of being available to users.
Mr. Tran Quoc Thang - General Director of an automotive technology equipment manufacturing company said that the technologies equipped on VF 8 are impressive and suitable for Vietnamese people's car usage habits. "VF 8 is one of the few models in the same price segment that has a built-in Vietnamese virtual assistant," said Mr. Thang.

"The smart utility products we develop specifically for cars cannot be as complete as VinFast's virtual assistant, which can control everything in Vietnamese. This requires Vietnamese brand cars, understanding the language and habits of Vietnamese people to be able to integrate so deeply," said Mr. Thang.
According to the representative of the Vietnamese car company, currently, software updates and feature upgrades for electric vehicles are performed by VinFast for all users without incurring additional fees. This is also a big advantage of electric vehicles because in fact, optimal operating costs (including fuel costs, warranty, maintenance, upgrades, etc.) are also a prerequisite factor that motivates many people to switch from gasoline cars to electric cars.

"The total cost of around one billion VND for an advanced D-class electric car with many advanced safety features is a very good price. At that price in the same segment, users can usually only buy the lowest version," car expert Trinh Le Hung emphasized. He also said that the "bargain" price is one of the first attractions of the VF 8 when customers choose to buy a car.
In addition, fuel costs that are 20-30% cheaper than gasoline cars are also a motivation for many customers to choose to buy electric cars, to experience safe and smart cars. In addition, with the deployment speed of 150,000 charging ports in all 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam, charging cars becomes more convenient and easier for users.
