Mobile trial of 5 drug cases at the Social Labor and Education Center of Que Phong district
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 29, the People's Court of Que Phong district conducted a trial of 5 mobile drug crime cases at the district's Social Labor and Education Center to educate and disseminate the law, highlight the harmful effects of drugs for addicts undergoing rehabilitation at the center, and at the same time deter and prevent drug crimes.
On June 29, at the hall of the Social Labor and Education Center located in Tang village, Tien Phong commune (Que Phong), the People's Court of Que Phong district tried 5 cases related to the illegal possession and sale of drugs. This mobile trial attracted special attention from many local people, especially students who are undergoing drug rehabilitation, working and studying here.

In the first case, Luong Van Than, born in 1980, Thai ethnic group, residing in Na Ca village, Que Son commune, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for "illegal possession of narcotics". Previously, on March 26, 2018, in Na Ca village, the Que Phong District Police Working Group discovered and caught Luong Van Than in the act of illegally storing narcotics for the purpose of use. The evidence collected was 01 package of heroin weighing 0.65g.
The second case is about Vi Van Dai, born in 1963, Thai ethnic group, residing in Na Ca village, Que Son commune. This subject was sentenced to 08 years in prison for the crime of "illegal drug trafficking". According to the indictment, on April 22, 2018, in Na Ca village area, the working group of the district police discovered and caught Luong Van Dai in the act of illegally selling drugs to others. The evidence seized was 01 package of heroin weighing 0.5 grams. Luong Van Dai has a 1/12 education level, and works as a farmer. It is worth mentioning that Dai has 2 previous convictions related to drugs.

The third case is the case of "illegal possession of drugs" by two subjects: Vi Van Phuong, born in 1992, Thai ethnic group, residing in Tan Thanh village, Chau Nga commune (Quy Chau) and Lo Quang Son, born in 1991, Thai ethnic group, residing in 8/3 village, Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, a freelance worker.
Lo Quang Son has two previous convictions: On April 26, 2012, the People's Court of Quy Chau district sentenced him to 30 months in prison with a suspended sentence for the crime of "intentionally causing injury", and then the People's Court of Nghe An province upheld the sentence on appeal. On March 26, 2014, the People's Court of Quy Chau district sentenced Lo Quang Son to 1 year in prison for the crime of "intentionally causing injury" plus the 30-month prison sentence but suspended from the previous sentence, making the total sentence for the two sentences 3 years and 6 months in prison for the crime of "intentionally causing injury". This case was returned for additional information.

The fourth case tried Luong Van Thao, born in 1997, and Vi Van Chien, born in 1994, both residing in Na Bon village, Tien Phong commune (Que Phong) for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
According to the indictment, at around 12:00 on March 26, 2018, in Block 8, Kim Son Town, Que Phong, the Que Phong District Police working group discovered and arrested Thao and Chien red-handed for illegally storing drugs for the purpose of use. The evidence collected was 01 package of heroin weighing 0.75g. The court sentenced Luong Van Thao to 18 months in prison and Vi Van Chien to 20 months in prison.
The fifth case tried Nguyen Trong Tinh, born in 1978, residing in block 2, Kim Son town, with a sentence of 30 months in prison.
According to the indictment, at about 9:00 p.m. on March 29, 2018, Nguyen Trong Tinh sold 1 package of heroin to Phan Dinh Tuan for 200,000 VND. Searching Tinh's house, the authorities also seized 4 packages of heroin weighing 2.15 grams.
