Mobile trial of property theft subjects

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 11, at the People's Committee of Quynh Hau commune, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a mobile court to try two cases of property theft.

The three defendants at this trial include Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, born in 1992, residing in Thanh Cong hamlet, Quynh Long commune; Nguyen Ngoc Son, born in 1982, residing in hamlet 12, Quynh Hau commune (Quynh Luu) and Nguyen Thanh Binh, born in 1983, residing in hamlet 1, Hung Nguyen Bac commune (Hung Nguyen).

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu district, on August 21, 2015, defendant Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, driving a motorbike from Quynh Long commune to hamlet 13, Quynh Ngoc commune, saw that Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan's electrical goods stall was not being watched, so she had the intention of stealing. Taking advantage of the lunch break when Ms. Tuan and her husband were not paying attention, Anh sneaked into the stall, stole 4 rolls of electrical wire worth more than 2 million VND, put them on a motorbike and took them to Son Hai commune to sell to Mr. Ngo Quoc Khanh for 1.2 million VND to get money for entertainment and buy crystal meth to use.

Then on September 13, Anh continued to go to Ms. Tuan's electrical goods store to steal 2 rolls of electric wire worth 1.3 million VND and put them on a motorbike to sell. While looking for someone to sell the electric wire to, Anh was discovered by Ms. Tuan, who chased her and reported her to the police in Quynh Luu district to arrest her.

At the trial, defendant Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh admitted to all acts of property theft and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, and ordered to return the 1.2 million VND she had obtained from her crime. Previously, Anh had 2 previous convictions and 1 previous conviction related to property theft.

Also at the trial, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district sentenced defendant Nguyen Ngoc Son, born in 1982, residing in hamlet 12, Quynh Hau commune (Quynh Luu) to 5 years and 6 months in prison for stealing a motorbike and defendant Nguyen Thanh Binh, born in 1983, residing in hamlet 1, Hung Nguyen Bac commune (Hung Nguyen district) to 4 years in prison for consuming property obtained by others through crime./.
