Timely handling of fire at Phan Boi Chau Specialized School laboratory
On the afternoon of May 7, a fire suddenly broke out at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, forcing all students of the school to miss the last period.
The fire broke out at around 10am, when students were in their fourth period at school. Smoke billowed from the laboratory building, close to the 12th grade classroom, causing many students to be quite worried.
Immediately after that,Phan Boi Chau High School for the Giftedannounced that all students were allowed to leave school early. At the same time, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force also dispatched fire trucks and fire fighting equipment to the scene to promptly handle the incident.
A short time later, the fire was brought under control and there were no casualties.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training, said: This morning, while the staff in charge of the laboratory was cleaning up, a bottle of sulfuric acid accidentally fell from the shelf and caused a fire.

After controlling and extinguishing the fire, the Department of Education and Training requested the school to seal off the entire burned area. In addition, it must be cleaned before reuse.
