Man fined nearly 38 million VND for driving under the influence of drugs and expired vehicle registration

(Baonghean.vn) - During the inspection, the working group of the Provincial Traffic Police Department discovered that Mr. Q. was using drugs while driving.

On February 19, information from the Provincial People's Committee Office said that Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just signed a decision to administratively sanction Mr. Tran Huu Q. (born in 1974, residing in Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province) for violations in the field of road and railway traffic.

Previously, on January 9, while patrolling and controlling National Highway 1, through Dien Thinh Commune (Dien Chau District), the working group of the Provincial Traffic Police Department conducted a quick test and discovered drugs in driver Q's urine. The vehicle registration certificate that driver Q presented had also expired; the male driver also did not bring the Technical Safety and Environmental Protection Inspection Certificate.

The test results later also showed that at the time of driving the car on the road, driver Q. used drugs. The Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police Department made a record and sent the case file to the Provincial People's Committee to request administrative sanctions according to its authority.

For the offense of driving a car on the road while having drugs in the body, according to the provisions of Point c, Clause 10, Article 5, Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, driver Tran Huu Q. was fined 35 million VND and had his driver's license revoked for 23 months. In addition, driver Q. was also fined 2.5 million VND for using an expired vehicle registration certificate and 300 thousand VND for not carrying a certificate of technical safety inspection and environmental protection. The total fine that this man had to pay was 37.8 million VND.
