Administrative fines for 2 men in Nghe An who intentionally delivered smuggled cars

Information from the Provincial People's Committee office on September 21 said that Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh has just signed a decisionadministrative penalty2 cases of intentional deliverysmuggled goodsis a used car.

Previously, the provincial Customs Department discovered that Mr. Tran Van Phuong (born in 1980), residing in Thanh An commune, Thanh Chuong district, was delivering a Volkswagen Passat car manufactured in 2012 worth over 100 million VND. Working with the authorities, Mr. Phuong could not provide documents related to the car.

On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Van Soa (born in 1966), residing in Dong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, was also discovered by the Nghe An Customs Department when he delivered a 2006 Toyota Camry car with an estimated value of 70 to under 100 million VND. Mr. Soa also could not provide valid documents related to this car.

According to the authorities, both men had mitigating circumstances such as voluntarily reporting, honestly admitting their mistakes, and actively helping the authorities handle the administrative violation. Applying the provisions of Decree 185/2013 and Decree 124/2015 of the Government, Mr. Tran Van Phuong was fined 40 million VND, Mr. Nguyen Van Soa was fined 30 million VND.

In addition, both Mr. Phuong and Mr. Soa had their vehicles confiscated as evidence of the above administrative violations.
