Xuan Son (Do Luong): Promoting agricultural development towards industrialization

(Baonghean) - After nearly 5 years of building new rural areas, with the efforts and determination of the Party Committee, government and all the people, Xuan Son commune (Do Luong) completed 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards in 2016.

Entering the new rural construction still has many difficulties, the whole commune has only achieved 4/19 criteria; the remaining criteria all require large investment funds to complete such as traffic infrastructure, public works, cultural facilities. Therefore, the commune promotes propaganda work, clearly analyzes in the community about the goal of building new rural areas; in which each organization, unit, each person participates voluntarily and plays the role of the subject well.

Thanks to its good leadership and management, the commune has achieved outstanding results in the economic field. To promote advantages and create an economic leap, the commune's approach is to promote intensive farming, build joint venture and association models, and develop many models of livestock and poultry farming in the industrial and semi-industrial direction.

Up to now, the whole commune has 13 farms, 39 combined livestock farms, many models with annual income of billions of dong. In addition, the commune has promoted the trading and service system. Currently, the whole commune has 168 trading households, 68 small-scale industrial households, 18 transport vehicles of all kinds, and 7 passenger service vehicles. The average income of local people has reached nearly 35 million dong/person/year, the number of well-off households is increasing; the rate of poor households has decreased to 3.2%. These results have contributed to shifting the economic structure in the right direction in the area.

Along with economic development, infrastructure construction is one of the difficult contents because it requires the concentration of resources and large budget. Thanks to the good work of resource mobilization, the whole commune mobilized over 260 billion VND for new rural construction, of which people contributed over 162 billion VND, accounting for over 70% of the total capital. Thanks to that, the commune has planned and completed standard works including rural roads, intra-field canals, transformer stations, power grid systems, school facilities, medical stations, communal cultural houses, hamlet cultural houses, stadiums, residential housing renovation, temporary landfills, etc.

From the completion of infrastructure works to standards, people's lives have been improved, the cultural and social fields have always been of local interest, creating many improvements. Up to now, the whole commune has 100% of households with audio-visual equipment, Internet connection system to the hamlet, 10/10 hamlets have standard cultural houses, entertainment areas, and cultural institutions are built spaciously.

The rate of cultural families is always over 86% every year. 8/10 hamlets have achieved the title of cultural hamlet at the district level, 10/10 hamlets have a scholarship fund. All 3 schools in the area meet national standards; 10/10 hamlets have hamlet nurses, and the commune meets national health standards. Environmental sanitation work is carried out regularly, currently over 98% of households use clean, hygienic water. The national defense and security sector is maintained and ensured.

Thanks to the achievements, Xuan Son commune has built a strong and comprehensive political system. The Party Committee has been recognized for many consecutive years as a clean and strong Party Committee, with a team of competent and qualified civil servants with a high sense of responsibility and good solidarity, helping the movement to develop day by day. The government is recognized as a strong unit every year. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations are continuously recognized as excellent.
