Agricultural, forestry and fishery exports still maintain the 30 billion USD mark
According to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, despite a year of difficult weather and declining export markets, the export results of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 12 months still reached 30.13 billion USD, far exceeding the target of the 5-year plan (the plan was 21 billion USD).

According to data from the Central Institute for Economic Management, the domestic added value of agricultural exports in 2015 was 84%, but Minister Cao Duc Phat said that even if it only reached about 70%, it would mean that Vietnamese businesses and farmers had earned a value of 20 billion USD, creating many jobs and incomes for the people. However, according to many experts, Vietnam's agricultural sector is also showing shortcomings and is at a disadvantage in terms of competitiveness. If not promptly overcome, the shortcomings will become more and more obvious as Vietnam integrates deeply into the world economy.
According to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, the El Nino phenomenon is forecast to continue to affect until mid-2016, but the worrying thing is that the La Nina phenomenon will often appear with more extreme phenomena such as floods and heavy rains. Currently, the agricultural sector is directing localities to urgently implement solutions to store and release water to ensure production, but at the same time, they must promote projects to strengthen irrigation systems to cope with floods.
