Emotional pilgrimage "Bringing homeland to comrades"
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 23, relatives and war veterans of Regiment 27 - Heroic Trieu Hai gathered at Nam Anh commune, Nam Dan district (Nghe An) to make the 6th pilgrimage "Bringing homeland to comrades" - 2018.

Regiment 27 was established on February 8, 1968 in Nam Anh commune. Immediately after its establishment, the Regiment was ordered to march to the South to fight and became the main Regiment of Front B5, Route 9, North Quang Tri.
During the resistance war against the US, the Regiment participated in major campaigns: Mau Than 1968, Route 9 Southern Laos, Quang Tri liberation campaign 1972, Ho Chi Minh campaign 1975, achieving many outstanding feats.

The pilgrimage "Bringing the homeland to comrades" was initiated by poet and journalist Le Ba Duong in 2009 with the wish "if we cannot bring our fallen comrades back to their homeland, then bring the homeland to our comrades".
The 6th pilgrimage in 2018 was held for 5 days, from July 23 to 27, taking place at many locations, starting from Nam Anh commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province and ending at the bank of Thach Han river, Quang Tri province with many touching programs: "Welcoming soldiers back to the village", "Warm the forest of comrades", "Singing for my comrades", "Bringing the homeland into the heart of Thach Han"...

Participating in the 6th pilgrimage "Bringing the homeland to comrades" were over 500 relatives and war veterans of Regiment 27 - Heroic Trieu Hai from 7 groups from the provinces and cities: Nghe An, Hanoi, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Quang Binh and the Southern provinces.
In Nam Anh commune, from the afternoon and night of July 23, the pilgrimage began with the following programs: "Welcoming soldiers back to the village" with the participation of 175 relatives and war veterans of the Regiment, "Military-civilian meal", lighting candles and offering incense at the martyrs' memorial of the commune, laying flowers at the stele of Regiment 27, performing arts with self-composed performances expressing the love between the army and the people, receiving the sacred land and water of Nam Dan, awarding the scholarship fund "The past nourishes the future" worth 20 million VND to the children of Nam Anh commune...

The pilgrimage "Bringing the homeland to comrades" of the 27th Regiment's veterans is not only a return to the old battlefield of the anti-American veterans, to show gratitude to those who have fallen, the people, the countryside that have embraced and nurtured the Regiment, but also has the meaning of awakening and reminding the younger generation of their love for the Fatherland, of the traditional values built with the blood and bones of their fathers./.
