Request to report on salary situation, salary arrears, Tet bonus before December 25

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has issued a document requesting the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to report on the situation of wages, Tet bonuses and labor relations in enterprises.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs requested the Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to direct the implementation of instructions and support for local enterprises to coordinate and discuss with grassroots trade union organizations to review labor contracts, collective labor agreements, salary payment regulations, bonus regulations to implement salary and bonus regimes and other regimes and policies for employees according to regulations and agreed contents.

Enterprises develop bonus plans based on 2023 production and business results in accordance with labor law provisions and publicly notify employees in the enterprise.

Relevant agencies shall synthesize and report data on the salary situation and salary arrears in 2023; bonus plans based on production and business results and labor relations in enterprises on the occasion of New Year and Lunar New Year 2024; send data to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs before December 25.

At the same time, regularly monitor and grasp the situation of labor relations, labor fluctuations and strengthen the implementation of support solutions, promote the building of harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises in the area; have appropriate measures to prevent and minimize labor disputes and strikes arising in the area.

When labor disputes and strikes arise, management agencies need to quickly grasp the situation, coordinate with relevant agencies to support the parties in conducting dialogue and negotiations to resolve disagreements, and prevent strikes from lasting and spreading among businesses, causing disorder and social insecurity, especially during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2024.

Recently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has issued a document requesting that grassroots trade unions propose to enterprises to publicly develop plans for paying salaries and bonuses for Tet 20 days before the Lunar New Year holiday to ensure the rights of workers. This proposal has been responded to by many enterprises and workers.
