200 Japanese cherry trees are coming to Hanoi

The Japanese cultural exchange and cherry blossom tree reception event given by Japan to Hanoi will be held on March 19 at Ly Thai To flower garden, Hanoi.

This activity contributes to promoting, introducing and publicizing the image, cultural beauty, country and people of Japan to the people of Hanoi, in order to further enhance understanding, trust and connection between the people of the two countries.

It is also an opportunity to exchange experiences and cooperate in the fields of culture, tourism and economy between Hanoi and Japan.

After the reception ceremony, Hanoi City will plant cherry blossom trees at Hoa Binh Park, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

Japanese cultural exchange activities include: Cherry blossom exhibition around Ly Thai To flower garden; traditional Hanoi art performance at Nha Ken area; screening of Japanese animation films at Kim Dong Cultural Center.

Previously, the Hanoi Party Committee announced that Japan planned to give Hanoi 200 cherry blossom trees. The Japanese side has carefully researched and selected cherry blossom trees originating from the Northeast region, where the climate and soil are similar to Hanoi. Engineers from the neighboring country will also be sent to support the planting and care, ensuring that the trees will bloom after 1 year.

The Department of Construction is the unit in charge of receiving and organizing cherry blossom tree care at Hoa Binh Park, coordinating with the Japanese side to take care of the trees, ensuring a green, clean and beautiful environment in the cherry blossom growing area.
