30,000 people signed a petition to revoke Real's five Champions League titles.
A wave of protests against Real Madrid's Champions League win is taking place on change.org, citing a violation of democracy.
In a letter titled "Fairness for Sport", sent to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), the protest group wrote: "We demand, in the name of sporting and democratic values, the immediate revocation of the five European Cups won by Real between 1956 and 1960. None of these titles are worthy of the tournament that is today called the Champions League."
The letter appeared on May 12 and has had about 30,000 signatures.

Di Stefano and Real's five European Cups in the late 1950s. |
In the 1950s, the dictatorship of General Franco had distorted democracy in Spain. As a favorite team of Franco, Real Madrid had benefited many times. A typical example was the case of Real taking awayAlfredo Di Stefano from Barca, after this player and the Nou Camp team reached an agreement to sign a contract.
Thanks to the gathering of many stars like Di Stefano, Real won five consecutive European Cups right after the tournament's inception (1956-1960). After that, the team won five more titles in 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2014, thus making a record 10 crowns.
In December 2015, a petition related to Real also appeared on change.org, calling for President Florentino Perez to resign. This petition was later unsuccessful.
