35 Dan Lai households will move to new resettlement area after Lunar New Year

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 12, leaders of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district and related units inspected the construction progress of the resettlement area for Dan Lai people in Ba Ha village, Thach Ngan commune.

Up to now, the resettlement project for Dan Lai people in Ba Ha village, Thach Ngan commune has built 35 stilt houses for 35 households with 179 people. From the beginning of 2018 until now, the district has organized 5 meetings to propagate and mobilize households in two residential villages living in the core area of ​​Pu Mat National Park, Co Phat and Khe Bung, to move to new places.

The project management board has made a plan to count assets, households, and people to prepare for the relocation. When arriving at the resettlement site, in addition to 35 2-3 room stilt houses made of concrete, households will be allocated 10 hectares of production land, 100 hectares of forest land, and accompanying auxiliary works. The system of public works such as: electricity grid, inter-village roads, irrigation dams, domestic water works, kindergartens, primary schools, and health stations also basically meet the requirements.

Ba Ha resettlement area, Thach Ngan commune was approved and invested in construction since 2010. According to the plan, Con Cuong district will mobilize forces to repair houses, clean up the environment, renovate fields, infrastructure... to help people move to new places after Tet 2019.

The resettlement project for 35 households of the Dan Lai ethnic group was implemented according to Decision 280/2006/QD-TTg dated December 16, 2006 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project on Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Dan Lai ethnic minority group currently living in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park, Con Cuong District. The objective of the project is to improve living conditions, develop socio-economic conditions to preserve and sustainably develop this ethnic group, while ensuring border security and protecting the ecosystem of Pu Mat National Park.
