4 heads of state confirmed official visit to Vietnam on the occasion of APEC 2017
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of attending the APEC 2017 Summit Week in Vietnam, four leaders of major economies including China, the US, Chile and Canada have confirmed that they will officially visit Vietnam.
1. US President Donald Trump

During his visit to Vietnam, on November 10, President Donald Trump will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Da Nang.
He will also deliver a speech here on “America’s vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region and highlight the region’s important role in advancing America’s economic prosperity.”
As scheduled, after leaving Da Nang, on November 11, President Trump will arrive in Hanoi, beginning his official visit to Vietnam. The US President will have bilateral meetings with President Tran Dai Quang and other senior leaders of Vietnam.
2. Chinese President Xi Jinping

From November 10 to 11, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping will attend the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting held in Da Nang city, Vietnam.
Immediately after that, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping will pay a State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang.
This is the first foreign visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping right after the successful 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Comrade Xi Jinping was re-elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
3. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

At the invitation of Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will pay an official visit to Vietnam from November 8-9.
Canada-Vietnam relations have developed very well over the past decades. Vietnam is becoming Canada's largest trading partner in ASEAN; educational cooperation is also becoming an important field, a pillar in the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Along with that, about 250,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Canada are an effective bridge for people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
4. Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria

At the invitation of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang, President of the Republic of Chile Michelle Bachelet Jeria will pay a State visit to Vietnam from November 8-9, 2017.
Michelle Bachelet was President of Chile from 2006 to 2010, and took office for a second term in 2014. In September 2006, Forbes magazine selected her as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world, at number 17.
Chile is also one of the 21 APEC economies. A high-level Chilean delegation led by President Michelle Bachelet Jeria will attend activities at the 2017 APEC Summit Week in Da Nang.
