5.5 years in prison for the subject of buying, selling and transporting firecrackers

On January 29, the People's Court of Hoang Mai town held a mobile trial in Quynh Lien commune on the case of buying, selling and transporting firecrackers.

Defendant Trinh Quoc Huu (born in 1983), registered permanent residence in Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. According to the indictment, at 3:00 p.m. on October 17, 2018, Trinh Quoc Huu used a white KIA CERATO car with license plate 37A - 462.01 owned by Trinh Quoc Ha in hamlet 12, Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district (Huu's younger brother) to go from Bao Thanh commune to Tu Son - Soc Son intersection on the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen highway to buy fireworks to sell.

Before leaving, Huu called a man named Tien (exact address unknown) to prepare fireworks to sell to Huu. This man agreed and arranged to meet at the Tu Son - Soc Son intersection. Here, Huu met and bought from a man named Tien 180 blocks of fireworks contained in 6 cardboard boxes and 04 bags of snake carcasses weighing 257.6 kg for 31 million VND.

After purchasing the goods, Huu put the fireworks in his car and transported them to Yen Thanh to sell. When he arrived at the Hoang Mai Road Toll Station in Quynh Thien Ward, Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An Province, he was discovered and caught red-handed by the working group of Nghe An Provincial Police and Yen Thanh District Police.

At the trial, the defendant confessed honestly, had a good personal history, no criminal record, was married, had two young children and a poor family. Considering that the defendant had no aggravating circumstances, the court sentenced the defendant Trinh Quoc Huu to 5 years and 6 months in prison.
