Nghe An province has been identified by the Government as a key and complicated area for drugs; complicated for illegal drug trafficking and transportation; has a high number of addicts and the use of synthetic drugs is on the rise. The proportion of young people who violate drug laws is high, posing challenges for the whole society.

At the launching ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Thi Thom called on cadres and youth union members in the whole province to absolutely commit not to use or try drugs; not to cover up when friends or relatives violate the law on drugs; not to transport, trade or store drugs; and not to entice friends to use drugs.

Living in peace and behaving in a civilized manner with drug addicts. Actively and effectively implementing the contents of the action plan to implement Joint Resolution 03 between the Ministry of Public Security and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on coordinating actions to prevent and combat drug use among youth.

Accordingly, the representative of the Provincial Youth Union leadership requested grassroots youth organizations to step up propaganda and dissemination of knowledge on drug prevention and drug crimes; mobilize cadres and union members to participate in detecting, denouncing, and fighting against drug crimes and evils... Thereby, gradually pushing back drug crimes and evils in the area.

“Every individual, family, and organization in society is an active member, joining hands to prevent drugs will contribute to building a drug-free environment. Every cadre, youth union member, and our Youth Union organization always opens its arms to help addicts, bringing light to those still in the dark,” emphasized comrade Nguyen Thi Thom.

On this occasion, 14 Youth Unions of Que Phong district signed a commitment to propagate drug prevention and launched a drug prevention propaganda team. Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and Que Phong District People's Committee presented 8 million VND to the drug prevention propaganda team.

After the launching ceremony, nearly 500 officers and soldiers of the armed forces, youth union members, representatives of leaders and mass organizations of 14 communes and towns organized a parade to respond to the month of action against drugs and the international day and national day against drugs.
