6 Covid-19 patients in Nghe An have serious condition, one is in critical condition

According to the Department of Health, on the afternoon of July 2, at the Tropical Disease Center (Nghe An General Hospital), 49 Covid-19 patients were being treated. Of these, 1 patient was in critical condition, requiring a ventilator and continuous blood filtration; 5 other patients were in serious condition and were requiring oxygen therapy.

Meanwhile, the Northwest Regional General Hospital is treating 7 patients, all in stable health; Field Hospital No. 1 in Hung Nguyen district is treating 49 patients, all in stable health.

Since June 13, the province has recorded 109 positive cases of Covid-19 in 11/21 districts, cities and towns. Of which, Vinh City: 72 cases, Dien Chau: 15 cases, Tan Ky: 1 case, Quy Hop: 5 cases, Nam Dan: 4 cases, Do Luong: 1 case, Hoang Mai: 2 cases, Nghia Dan: 1 case, Nghi Loc: 4 cases, Quynh Luu: 4 cases. In addition, there are 2 re-positive cases in Nghia Dan and Que Phong.
The total number of citizens being quarantined and monitored for health in the province is: 29,069 cases, of which 25,407 cases are quarantined and self-monitored at home. The total number of people being quarantined in a centralized facility is 3,662 cases, of which 2,943 are F1 cases.

Regarding the outbreak at Vinh wholesale market, according to Nghe An Department of Health, since the first case on June 22, the whole province has recorded a total of34SARS-CoV-2 infection cases(Vinh:25Song, Nam Dan: 3 songs, Hoang Mai: 2 songs, Nghi Loc:3song, Quynh Luu: 1)

Through screening from June 1st to present, the number of traders coming to/returning from wholesale markets in the province from June 1st to present: 7,823 people(Vinh City: 6,009; Nam Dan: 410; Cua Lo: 110).Phase 1 has taken samples for testing for 6,640 cases. Number of samples with results: 6,624, of which: 6,609 samples were negative, 15 samples were positive, 16 samples are waiting for results. Phase 2 has taken samples from 794 cases in the districts, other cases are being sampled.(Vinh city alone 6,009 cases).

Nghe An Department of Health assessed that this outbreak has many factors related to cargo vehicles and traders returning from epidemic areas across the country. The number of people coming to/returning from Vinh wholesale market is large, distributed in many districts and towns; the cases have developed over many cycles, so the risk of detecting new infections with related factors is very high. In addition, many provinces and cities across the country are currently experiencing complicated outbreaks. Nghe An is a large area with many traffic connections, so the risk of disease outbreaks from other epidemic provinces is very high.

Meanwhile, many people are still subjective and do not comply with epidemic prevention regulations. In particular, a number of people returning from other localities such as Ha Tinh, Bac Giang, etc. do not declare their health. Some F0s do not declare honestly and promptly, causing difficulties in the tracing process.

Some documents guiding the epidemic prevention work of the National Steering Committee and Provincial Steering Committees are not synchronized, causing difficulties in the organization and implementation such as: The work of classifying subjects and organizing quarantine in localities is not uniform; the management of people returning from areas implementing social isolation according to Directive 16/CT-TTg is still difficult.
