88 students in a high school infected with Covid-19 in Japan
Shimane Prefecture, Japan, has just confirmed that Matsue City had 91 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday (August 9).
Notably, 88 of these cases were students at a single high school. Authorities determined that a mass infection cluster had occurred at Sunan High School at Risso University.

Earlier, on August 8, a male student in the high school's soccer club was confirmed positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Authorities conducted PCR tests on 150 people related to the club. It is known that 80 of the 88 infected students are living in the school's dormitory.
The city government and provincial government are actively coordinating to identify the source of infection and take measures to prevent the epidemic from continuing to spread.
