In recent years, after each heavy rain, floods have caused landslides on the Lam River banks, affecting people's lives and agricultural land. To overcome this situation, in early 2025, the People's Committee of Anh Son district coordinated with the district Farmers' Association to implement a plan to plant bamboo and bamboo along the Lam River banks to create an ecological embankment to prevent landslides and erosion.

Up to now, over 19 communes of Anh Son district have planted bamboo along Lam river, over 4,000 bamboo trees with a length of over 4km.

According to the report of Anh Son District People's Committee, this time, the whole district will plant over 13,000 bamboo trees with a length of 14km along the Lam River bank, expected to be completed by the end of March 2025.
A representative of the People's Committee of Anh Son district said: After each flood season, the riverbed erodes, eating deep into the land for production. Planting bamboo is low cost, easy to do, and is an effective solution to protect agricultural land, traffic works, and irrigation works. This is also an important solution to regulate the river to effectively respond to climate change, stabilize people's lives and production.
