Britain uses special strategy to deal with Russia like the Cold War

It is a strategy Britain has not used since the end of the Cold War, said British Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson.

Accordingly, the British Ministry of Defense will restore the work of a special unit specializing in monitoring threats from hostile countries, including Iran, China and Russia. This department was established in the early 80s, but was dissolved after the Soviet Union began to reform.

Mr Williamson also said that the unit would assess the combat readiness of the UK's armed forces. Specifically, the minister said, increased training of marines under the Norwegian Arctic program, after Russian submarines in the Arctic increased their activity "close to Cold War levels".

In addition, Britain also plans to modernize warships, submarines and helicopters, while paying attention to cyber attacks, the media added.
