Comrade Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Nghe An currently has more than 172,000 hectares of special-use forests, a province with a large area of special-use forests, extremely rich natural resources and high biodiversity. In recent years, the conservation and development of special-use forests has achieved remarkable results. However, the phenomenon of illegal logging and forest product exploitation, and hunting of wild animals still occurs, creating significant pressure on the special-use forest system and ecological diversity of the province.

At the working session, the Forestry Planning Investigation Team (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) briefly reported on the report on the planning for special-use forest conservation in the province until 2020. Accordingly, the planning is to form 6 special-use forests, with a total area of 173,112.92 hectares, along with specific tasks and solutions. The goal is to conserve biodiversity and develop Pu Mat National Park and 2 nature reserves Pu Huong and Pu Hoat; protect and develop special-use forests associated with history, culture, and scenic spots in Nam Dan and Yen Thanh; preserve and develop Sang Le forest (landscape) in Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong).

After listening to the comments, comrade Dinh Viet Hong suggested that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the consulting unit should review the procedures and basis for preparing the planning report to supplement it appropriately. Continue to research and complete the contents of the planning such as building forest protection stations, implementation solutions, clearly defining the specific functions and tasks of each unit in the planning. Suggest that the Department advise on establishing a planning appraisal council to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for decision in the coming time.
