Gang fakes university degrees, wholesales for 600 thousand dong

The police of District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, have just issued decisions to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute the arrest warrant for 3 subjects including: Nguyen Don Dat (born in 1995), Nguyen Van Duy (born in 1996), both from Hanoi, and Pham Duc Duy (born in 1995, from Thanh Hoa). These three subjects are being investigated for the act of"forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations".

In nearly a year of operation, this gang has forged hundreds of certificates and degrees from universities and colleges. They earned about 300 million VND.

Specifically, at the end of 2019, Dat went online to research and learn how to fake certificates and degrees from schools. Dat bought computers, printers, photocopiers, and machines to fake seals.

Dat found customers through a Zalo account named “Lam Phat”, posted on social networks and created a website with the domain name bangcapchinhquy.com. When customers had a need, Dat asked them to send personal information and photos via email, then faked the degree according to the customer's request.

At the end of May 2020, Dat hired Nguyen Van Duy to help with some work. In July 2020, Dat continued to hire Pham Duc Duy to deliver fake degrees to customers.

Dat sells each fake certificate or diploma for 1 - 3.5 million VND/piece. If the customer buys in bulk, Dat only charges 600 thousand VND.

Recently, following Dat's instructions, Pham Duc Duy made an appointment with a customer to deliver goods at a location on National Highway 1, An Phu Dong Ward, District 12, but was ambushed and arrested by District 12 Police.
