According to the report of the Department of Facilities,Ministry of Education and TrainingAs of October 29, Ha Tinh province had more than 20,000 students affected by storms and floods, 2 students were injured.drowning.
Damage to school facilities is estimated at 26 billion VND. 150 schools were flooded, of which 69 were deeply flooded. Books, learning materials, and teaching equipment were damaged, with an estimated damage of 3.1 billion VND.
Most schools in Quang Binh province were also affected by the storm.floodcaused. 100% of students had to stay home from school, 3 students drowned.
According to initial estimates, thousands of teaching equipment, books, and school supplies in Quang Binh province were damaged; 334 schools with about 3,000 classrooms and functional rooms were flooded; the total initial damage was estimated at over 382.8 billion VND.
Currently, philanthropists have donated a portion of tools, books, and textbooks from elementary to high school, but there is still a shortage of about 49,404 sets, equivalent to nearly 20 billion VND. 20 kindergartens suffered heavy damage to children's toys.
The Education Department of Quang Tri province had 5 people killed, including 1 student who drowned, 3 students who were buried, and 1 administrator. In addition, 2 preschool teachers whose husbands died while on duty to rescue people. The total damage in the province is estimated at about 80 billion VND.

In Thua Thien-Hue province, students had to stay home from school due to storms and floods. Property damage was estimated at 70.2 billion VND. Many schools suffered subsidence and damage to facilities. Many teaching equipment were broken. Students had their books and school supplies soaked, causing an estimated damage of 8.8 billion VND.
In Quang Nam province, the entirestudent absent, 3 students drowned, many schools were flooded, walls collapsed, roofs were blown off, landslides occurred; total property damage was estimated at about 36.5 billion VND.
Many educational facilities in Da Nang city were flooded, especially after storm No. 9. 50 classrooms and 1 multi-purpose hall were damaged, many school gates and fences collapsed, and the roof of the garage was blown off (the damage rate has not been assessed to estimate the amount of money).
In Binh Dinh province, storm No. 9 made landfall, forcing all students to stay home from school. Many schools had their roofs blown off, causing damage to facilities worth about VND8.65 billion.

Faced with heavy human and property losses in the central provinces due to complicated storms and floods, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha has called on organizations and individuals to continue supporting the central education sector to overcome difficulties.
Minister Phung Xuan Nha emphasized: “It will take a long time to overcome these damages. But right now, students need books to go to school, and facilities need to be repaired soon to stabilize teaching and learning. In the immediate future, support sources will focus on donating books and notebooks to students in flood-affected areas, trying to ensure that all students have books and notebooks to go to school.”
Donations will also be used to partially overcome the difficulties and shortages of desks, chairs, equipment and school supplies.
