Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum celebrates 60th anniversary
(Baonghean.vn) - This is an opportunity for generations to review together the 60-year tradition of building and growing the Nghe - Tinh Soviet Museum.
On the afternoon of September 11, the Nghe - Tinh Soviet Museum held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary (1960 - 2020).
Attending the ceremony on the Central side were comrades: Tran Dinh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism; Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Mai Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association; Nguyen Van Cong - Director of the Ho Chi Minh President Relic Site; Nguyen Thi Thu Hoan - Deputy Director of the National Museum of History.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial and local departments, branches and sectors, and generations of cadres and staff of the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum.
Attending the ceremony on behalf of Ha Tinh province were comrade Nguyen Thi Nu Y - Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People's Council and leaders of a number of museums in provinces and cities across the country.

At the ceremony, generations of staffNghe - Tinh Soviet Museumreviewed the 60-year journey of construction and development. On January 15, 1960, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum was officially established, becoming one of the four earliest museums established in the country.
In the early days of its establishment, in order to have documents and artifacts for display, the staff of the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum coordinated with the Museum Department of Nghe-Tinh Culture Department and students of Vinh Pedagogical University to collect them. On September 12, 1963, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum was inaugurated and opened to visitors. Nearly a year later, on February 3, 1964, the Museum was honored to have President Ho Chi Minh sign the Preface.
War years, MuseumNghe Tinh Soviethad to evacuate to Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan). Museum staff quickly set up an exhibition room to serve visitors, organized mobile exhibitions to agencies, factories, army units, and youth volunteers to encourage morale and add strength in combat.

The war ended, the Museum moved to Vinh city, the staff quickly started to repair the exhibition house, and develop a new exhibition outline. In 1987, the Ministry of Culture and Information issued a decision to convert the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum into a branch of the Vietnam Revolutionary Museum.

Since then, with the efforts of generations of cadres and employees and the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum has been invested in and built to be more and more spacious, meeting the requirements of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage.
The museum has an area of nearly 15,000 m2; outside the housedisplayThe permanent area also has other construction items such as the storage of artifacts, the Martyrs Memorial House, the Memorial to patriotic and revolutionary soldiers imprisoned at Vinh Prison; the thematic exhibition room "The life and revolutionary career of leader VI. Lenin", "The life and career of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the friendship between Vietnam and Laos".

The Museum currently preserves and displays nearly 16,000 documents,artifactof all kinds, including more than 3,500 original artifacts, 4,000 documentary films, nearly 6,000 personal files of imprisoned soldiers, more than 2,500 pages of French documents, more than 100 memoirs of veteran revolutionary cadres and a number of intangible cultural heritages.
With its achievements, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the State, and many Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Culture and Information and the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

In the next stage, the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum will strive to fulfill its mission of innovating and upgrading the display system, applying modern science and technology to display, presenting vivid and attractive content, suitable for the public's cultural enjoyment needs in the 4.0 era.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the achievements of generations of cadres and staff of the Nghe-Tinh Soviet Museum over the past 60 years. At the same time, he reminded the cadres and staff of the Museum to further promote the collection and display of artifacts and documents to fully recreate the Nghe-Tinh Soviet movement.
