18 gamblers caught gambling on dice

(Baonghean.vn)- On June 29, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thai - Deputy Head of the Investigation Agency of Nghia Dan District Police said that the Criminal Police Team had just arrested 18 subjects in a gambling game using the form of shaking dice in Nghia Mai commune.

Previously, receiving information from the masses, in Nghia Mai commune there was a gambling ring. Through checking and verification, at the house of Mr. Doan Van Hong (born in 1972) in hamlet 12, Nghia Mai commune, a gambling ring in the form of shaking dice has long been formed.

The gamblers chose a remote location in a poor commune to avoid the authorities.

At exactly 2:30 a.m. on June 22, the Criminal Police Team, consisting of 20 police officers from Nghia Dan District and 5 police officers from Nghia Mai Commune, surrounded Doan Van Hong's house. After subduing the guards, the police rushed in. The gamblers were engrossed in gambling. Hearing the shout "everyone sit still" from Senior Lieutenant Ngo Anh Tuan, the Criminal Police Team Leader, the gamblers ran away in panic, but this was not outside the police force's plan.

At the gambling den, police seized 49,300,000 VND, a set of dishes, 4 dice, and 18 cell phones.

The gamblers include: Ho Cong Tuc (born in 1965) residing in Nghia Yen commune, Le Hoai Nam (born in 1993) in Nghia Minh commune, Doan Van Phuong in Nghia Thinh commune, Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1971) in Nghia Hong commune, Nguyen Duc Tuyen (born in 1986), Nguyen Xuan Ngoc (born in 1987), Cao Khac Tu (born in 1993), Nguyen Van Nam (born in 1984), Cao Van Xuyen (born in 1989), Ngo Van Thang, Ngo Van Tuan, Nguyen Van Hai, Hoang Huu Minh, Doan Van Hong (born in 1972) all residing in Nghia Mai commune.

On June 27, Nghia Dan district police initiated a case and prosecuted the defendants.
