Despite the danger, many mountain children still bathe in the river during flood season.
After the flood, in Tri Le commune, the water from Nam Chot stream is still red and flowing rapidly. Despite the potential dangers, every day, many children in Na Nieng village still jump into the flood water to bathe and play.
According to records, from 3pm to 5pm every day, dozens of children from 5 to 10 years old gather to bathe in this stream. Many children dive into the water, others cling to drifting logs from upstream, playing in the deep, fast-flowing river and full of sharp rocks. Although this is a familiar activity in the summer, in the murky floodwater conditions, with many dangerous obstacles such as tree roots and rocks floating downstream, the risk of accidents is very high.

Ms. Vi Thi Tam, a local resident, worriedly said: "I don't know where the children's parents went to let their children bathe in the stream when the water was so high. There are many sharp rocks in the stream and the water is flowing strongly, which is very dangerous."

It is not uncommon for children in mountainous areas to bathe in streams and creeks. However, at this time, floodwaters are still high and very dangerous to life. It is necessary for parents, schools and local authorities to coordinate to strengthen propaganda, remind and closely monitor. Raising awareness of river accident prevention is extremely necessary to protect the lives of children in mountainous areas during the flood season./.
