Arrested 51 young people causing public disorder in Vinh City

In recent times, although the authorities have fought fiercely and dealt strictly with gangs of criminals, the situation of young people violating the law is still latent, and some new groups from neighboring areas (Nghi Loc district, Cua Lo town, Hung Nguyen district and Ha Tinh province) have come to Vinh city to operate. Groups of young people drive motorbikes, carrying weapons (knives, swords, etc.)zigzag, weaving, revving, chasing, committing illegal acts intentionally causing injury and disturbing public order, mainly late at night.

Continuing to implement the direction of the Provincial Police Director, Vinh City Police has developed and deployed a plan, mobilized the Professional Team, Ward and Commune Police, and Group 373 to establish a special project, focusing on screening, detecting, fighting and arresting subjects to handle, deter and prevent crimes.

By persistently monitoring and synchronously deploying professional measures, by September 10, 2024, Vinh City Police had successfully broken up the case, arrested 51 subjects (aged 14-18), seized many homemade knives and swords and some other related evidence.

Initially, the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency investigated and clarified: Through social networks, groups of subjects in neighboring areas such as Nghi Loc district, Cua Lo town, Hung Nguyen district and Ha Tinh province got to know each other and made an appointment to meet in Vinh city to "show off". While driving motorbikes at high speed, lining up in many rows on the road, swerving, shouting, honking..., the groups had conflicts, causing friction leading to chasing and fighting.

Currently, the Vinh City Police Investigation Agency has decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, apply preventive measures and temporarily detain 31 subjects for the crimes of disturbing public order and intentionally causing injury; and handle administrative violations against 20 related subjects.
