Arrest of young man with a heroin cake wrapped around his body

Previously, at around 8:00 p.m. on July 24, 2022, Dien Chau Traffic Police Station received a report from the public about a young man showing signs of suspected drug-related crimes, so they dispatched a working group to the scene to verify the information.

At the area of ​​​​Vuc Bong waist, Lam Bong village, Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district, the working group discovered a young man riding a motorbike (from Tuong Duong district to Anh Son district) with the same identification characteristics as reported by the people. When the working group signaled for an administrative check, the subject sped away but was quickly controlled by the working group.

Searching the subject, the police discovered a rectangular package wrapped in plastic containing white powder in front of his abdomen, at waist level.

At the police station, the young man confessed that his name was Lu Van Than (born in 1993), residing in Na Khom village, Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district; the white powder package was heroin, which Lu Van Than was hired to transport for a fee of 20,000,000 VND.

The working group sealed the evidence, prepared an initial file and transferred it to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police for handling according to regulations. The Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police requested an appraisal of the above evidence. According to the appraisal results, the package of white powder that Lu Van Than was storing was heroin, weighing more than 285 grams.
