Arrested addict who stabbed 2 district police officers

On November 8, Mr. Pham Thanh Thuy - Chief of Sa Thay District Police, Kon Tum Province, said that the district police had prosecuted and temporarily detained Tran Ngoc Tam, 20 years old, residing in Hamlet 3, Sa Thay Town, for resisting a person on duty and seriously injuring two Sa Thay District police officers.
Earlier, on the morning of November 7, Lieutenant Tran Manh Cuong and Sergeant Hoang Van Cuong - Sa Thay district police went to Tran Ngoc Tam's house to invite Tam to the district police headquarters to clarify his actions related to the property theft that occurred in the district.
While talking, Tam suddenly pulled out a knife he had hidden on his person and stabbed Lieutenant Tran Manh Cuong in the stomach and Sergeant Hoang Van Cuong in the right arm before running away.
Both police officers were injured and had to be taken to Kon Tum General Hospital for emergency treatment.
It is known that Tam is a drug addict and had to be sent to a reform school.
