Arrest of suspect in murder case at bar

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 3, 2017, the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes (PC45), Nghe An Provincial Police announced that they had arrested suspect Nguyen Huu Cuong (born 1984), residing in Hamlet 8, Nam Xuan Commune, Nam Dan District, to investigate the act of murder in a conflict at a bar that left one person dead.

As reported, at noon on July 2, Mr. Vuong Dinh Vinh (born in 1980), residing in Hamlet 8, Nam Xuan Commune, and a group of friends went to a restaurant in the commune to drink alcohol. Afterwards, Mr. Vinh and some people had a conflict.

After a while of fighting, people discovered that Vinh was seriously injured and collapsed on the spot, so they used a motorbike to take Vinh to Nam Dan District General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, Vinh died on the way to the hospital.

Initially, suspect Cuong said that Vinh and Cuong had a conflict at the bar, then Vinh chased and beat Cuong, so Cuong avoided it and Vinh crashed into a pillar, was injured and died.

However, from the statements of the shop owner and related people and through the autopsy, the Nam Dan District Police Department and PC45 Department, Nghe An Provincial Police determined that Cuong and Vinh had chased and fought with knives and iron pipes. Cuong beat Vinh, causing Vinh to collapse on the spot. The shop owner and Cuong took Vinh to the emergency room on a motorbike, but Vinh died on the way to Nam Dan District General Hospital. The police confiscated a knife and a long iron pipe.

On the morning of July 3, local authorities and relatives held a funeral for Vinh according to local customs.

Currently, Cuong is being detained to serve the investigation./.
