On October 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Tra Vinh Province Police has just prosecuted and temporarily detained Ms. Duong Ngoc Han (41 years old, residing in Hamlet 2, Ward 5, Tra Vinh City) for the act of "Lending high interest rates in civil transactions".
This case was discovered from information reported by people through the "hotline" phone number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh - Director of Tra Vinh Provincial Police.

According to the initial investigation results, the defendant Han and her husband NTP (38 years old) lent money at interest rates of 2%/day, 60%/month and 720%/year, exceeding the interest rates prescribed by law.
Every day, Mrs. Han and her husband collect interest from borrowers. This behavior is reported by people calling the “hotline” number of Colonel Tran Xuan Anh.
During the verification process, the police determined that 7 people borrowed money from Ms. Han for more than 1.2 billion VND and paid 920 million VND in interest. The defendant Han and her husband illegally profited 308 million VND.
During the search of Duong Ngoc Han and her husband's residence, the police seized loan receipts; 4 Japanese swords, machetes, and daggers; 105 million VND in principal and daily interest collected from borrowers; 11 mobile phones...

Searching the boarding house of this woman and her husband, the police continued to confiscate electric batons, switchblades, 3-section batons, 8 homemade knives...
