Former village chief arrested for illegal drug trafficking

Previously, on March 11, 2021, Que Phong District Police arrested Nguyen Van Cong (born in 1977), residing in Giao Yen Commune, Giao Thuy District, Nam Dinh Province for illegally transporting drugs, and seized 1 heroin cake. The case was then handed over to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police for further investigation.

Through the investigation and expansion of the case, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered an important "link" in the chain.illegal drug traffickingfrom Laos to Que Phong district and then sold to the northern provinces. That subject is Va Ga Sua (born in 1974), residing in Huoi Co village, Nhon Mai commune, Tuong Duong district.

Although he used to be the Party cell secretary and former head of Huoi Co village, Sua still connected with drug "ringleaders" in Laos and northerners to form a closed drug trafficking ring.

Faced with the above situation, under the direction of the Provincial Police leadership, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department has established a special project to expand the fight.

After a period of focused monitoring and consolidating evidence, on October 18, 2021, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with the Nhon Mai Commune Police, Tuong Duong District to arrest Va Ga Sua for illegal drug trafficking. Through the struggle, Sua confessed to his crime. Sua was the subject who provided 1 heroin cake to Nguyen Van Cong.

Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department is continuing to expand the project.
