At around 3:45 p.m. on December 7, dozens of detectives from the Criminal Police Department of Dong Nai Police suddenly raided and destroyed a gambling den at the home of Nguyen Phuc The (born in 1979), in Hamlet 1, Binh Loi Commune, Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai). At the time the police raided, the gamblers were engrossed in gambling for money by shaking the dice.

At the scene, the police controlled 21 subjects, both men and women, and seized nearly 400 million VND on the gambling mat along with many other exhibits such as: 3 dice, 1 white ceramic plate, 1 black plastic cover, 1 cardboard gambling mat; 24 mobile phones, 4 motorbikes, 2 cars.
Gamblers organized gambling and a tiger soaked in alcohol was discovered at the gambling den.
Through initial investigation, the police determined that this gambling den was run by Nguyen Thi Xuan Huong (Huong Nam), born in 1983, residing in Quarter 5, Thong Nhat Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province; Cao My Hanh (Big Girl), born in 1985, Hamlet 2, Thanh Phu Commune, Vinh Cuu, was the casino owner and Pham Ngoc Son, born in 1996, residing in Tan Phuoc Commune, Tan Hong District, Dong Thap Province, was the dealer and collected the money.
According to the police, this is a large-scale gambling den that has attracted dozens of "big names" from many different provinces and cities to participate for a long time with quite sophisticated tricks. To deal with the police, the subjects organized gambling in a house surrounded by barbed wire walls, locked the gate, arranged guards around and frequently changed the gambling location.
In particular, gambling was mainly arranged right at the homes of some gamblers who participated in the topographic survey organized by the subjects beforehand. Currently, the subjects and evidence are being temporarily detained for investigation and handling according to regulations.
In addition, when checking the house of Nguyen Phuc The, the police force also discovered 2 rare animals in the Red Book, including 1 tiger.soak in wine bottle; 1 individual of Con Dao squirrel is being kept in captivity. For these 2 individuals, the Criminal Police force continues to coordinate with a number of provincial police professional teams and relevant functional agencies of the province to identify and handle Nguyen Phuc The according to the law.
