Closing of the 4th Session, 15th National Assembly

Attending the closing session were General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Standing member of the Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, along with leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, guests and deputies of the 15th National Assembly.

At the Session, the National Assembly promoted a sense of responsibility, focused its mind and intelligence to solve a large and important volume of work with high consensus and unanimity.

Accordingly, 1,841 National Assembly deputies spoke at 7 group discussion sessions; 621 registered, 508 National Assembly deputies spoke and discussed and 26 debated at 26 Hall discussion sessions; 345 National Assembly deputies registered, 149 deputies raised questions, 22 debated at the question and answer sessions.

The National Assembly voted to pass 6 laws, 12 thematic resolutions and the General Resolution of the Session, discussed the reception, revision and initial comments on 8 draft laws and resolved many other important contents.

The National Assembly reviewed socio-economic issues, the State budget and decided on important issues. During the session, the National Assembly spent 2.5 days questioning 3 Ministers and the Government Inspector General on the fields of construction, information and communication, internal affairs, and inspection. The issues selected by the National Assembly were "correct and accurate", topical issues of interest to voters, people nationwide and National Assembly deputies.

Regarding personnel work, at this Session, the National Assembly reviewed and decided to complete the personnel of the State Auditor General, Minister of Health and Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term, ensuring standards, conditions, and compliance with processes and procedures according to Party regulations and State laws.

In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the 4th Session of the 15th National Assembly was a great success. The National Assembly acknowledged and highly appreciated the determination and efforts of the agencies of the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies and organizations in closely coordinating and carefully preparing the quality of the contents of the Session.

With the great success of the 4th Session, the National Assembly Chairman believes that, under the correct and wise leadership of the Party, the support and supervision of voters and people nationwide, the coordination of the President, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies and organizations, together with the National Assembly Session Regulations that have been amended and supplemented at this session, the activities of the National Assembly will certainly be of increasingly higher quality, more democratic, creative, drastic and practical, making worthy contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.
