| Since the beginning of May, the water level in Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir has dropped sharply, making it more difficult for boats to travel. As a result, the number of passengers traveling on this waterway has decreased significantly. Locals said that the area down to the upstream wharf of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir used to be bustling with people transporting goods from the village and buying goods from Thach Giam town waiting for boats to go to the inner communes. Mr. Lo Van Giap - Chairman of the People's Committee of Huu Khuong Commune (Tuong Duong) said: Due to the deep water level of Ban Ve Hydropower Reservoir, the distance from the village to the boat dock is more than 1 km long, along with mud, making it difficult for people to travel (previously when the water level was full, this distance was only more than 100m). That is the reason why people rarely go to the dock by water, except in special cases when they need to go."Recently, Ban Ve Hydropower Company supported the locality with 30 million VND to buy wooden planks to cross the muddy sections and provided some sandals, flashlights... for the people." |
