Recently, Nghe An General Friendship Hospital held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of 2022 and deploy the plan for the last 6 months of 2022. Attending the conference on the side of the Hospital were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huong - Party Committee Secretary, Hospital Director, and comrades in the Party Committee Executive Committee; Board of Directors; Directors of centers; Heads of departments and offices in the Hospital...On the part of the delegates attending, there were leaders of the Medical Affairs Department = Department of Health; Social Insurance of Nghe An province; Department PA03 of Nghe An Provincial Police.

Successfully completed the task of treating Covid-19 patients

From January 1, 2022 to May 31, 2022, the treatment area for severe and critical Covid-19 patients at the Department of Viruses and Parasites, Center for Tropical Diseases, together with Intensive Care Center No. 1 (Activated on February 15, 2022), focused all resources to treat 2,960 severe and critical Covid-19 patients. As a result, 2,766 healthy patients were discharged from the hospital. At Field Hospital No. 8 in Nghe An province, managed by the Hospital, 7,085 patients were cured.

The process of admitting and treating patients with severe and critical Covid-19 infection, many advanced techniques and specialties have been deployed right in the special isolation treatment area such as: ECMO, hemofiltration, continuous blood filtration, plasma exchange, periodic hemodialysis as well as performing difficult and complicated surgeries right in the field operating room. Thereby, many critically ill patients were saved and discharged from the hospital. The hospital performed many cases of cesarean section, difficult delivery and premature birth in the field operating room for many pregnant women with severe Covid-19 infection during labor, all babies were born healthy, were cared for according to the Ministry of Health's procedures and no baby was infected with Covid-19 after birth.

Perform well the work of medical examination and treatment

Despite many difficulties from the Covid-19 epidemic, in the first 6 months of the year, Nghe An General Hospital has strived to perform well the work of medical examination and treatment for the people with the number of patients reaching 101% of the plan; the number of medium and major surgeries reaching 104.3% of the plan; Cardiovascular interventions reaching 162% of the plan; Neurological interventions reaching 143.3%; IVF (baby births) reaching 76.9%...

The hospital promotes the development of high technology, specialized techniques at the central level such as coronary artery bypass surgery, Stent Graft placement to treat aortic aneurysms, command hypothermia techniques... At the same time, it continues to deploy techniques: vascular intervention, open heart surgery, assisted reproduction, organ transplantation, specialized endoscopic surgery, kidney transplantation, reaching the milestone of 500 children born from IVF and ECMO techniques, promoting intervention of organs and vessels: liver, spleen, kidney, uterus, mesenteric vessels... to treat patients with trauma, vascular malformations and tumors...

In addition, the Hospital has also promoted training and technology transfer to medical units in the region such as: training and technology transfer to 7 medical units in Ha Tinh province; implementing the Satellite Hospital Project for the period 2019 - 2025 in Nghe An province; implementing Telehealth with upper-level hospitals; implementing Telehealth with lower-level hospitals, Xieng Khouang Provincial General Hospital - Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The hospital organized the opening of continuous training courses, with 23 classes, attracting 132 participants; accepted the outlines of 139 scientific research topics; deployed 2 provincial-level topics and 5 projects for approval and recognition of provincial-level initiatives in the first phase of 2022.

The hospital has also cooperated with the Polish Embassy in Vietnam in technology transfer training and investment in facilities and equipment, contributing to the in-depth development of the hospital's key specialties: obstetrics, pediatrics, reproductive support, trauma, spinal neurology, organ transplantation, specialized vascular intervention...

Strengthening hospital quality management, building a green, clean and beautiful unit, Nghe An General Hospital has also implemented many activities to improve the green, clean and beautiful hospital environment; developing plans and implementing activities to improve hospital quality in 2022; implementing "5S" in departments, rooms, centers... Through the survey, the patient satisfaction rate in the first 6 months of the year reached 93.2%. The quality assessment score in the first 6 months of the year reached 4.1.

In addition to the achievements, the hospital's activities in the past 6 months have also encountered many difficulties, shortcomings and limitations. These are: Professional development is not comprehensive and uneven among departments and specialties. The implementation of some new high-tech techniques, as well as the registration of new techniques, has not been achieved compared to the plan. The number of patients examined and treated is low compared to the plan. The application of information technology in management and professional activities has not met the requirements, administrative procedures are not streamlined, and waiting time is still long. In the treatment, care and service of patients, there are still mistakes such as: inadequate consultation for patients, sometimes inattentive patient care, and limited communication skills.

Overcoming shortcomings and limitations, in the last 6 months of 2022, Nghe An General Friendship Hospital will continue to strengthen leadership, management and administration of the hospital in all aspects to ensure good implementation of the assigned tasks. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huong - Party Committee Secretary, Director of Nghe An General Friendship Hospital said: The hospital will focus on successfully directing the Congress of Party cells for the 2022-2025 term and conducting a mid-term review for the 2020-2025 term; focusing on developing new and high-tech techniques; perfecting the deployed techniques, especially kidney transplantation and stem cell transplantation; continuing to implement activities to respond to the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with the new situation, ensuring flexible adaptation criteria; perfecting the structure and organization of the apparatus in the direction of specialization, multi-field and multi-specialty.

In addition, the Provincial General Hospital also continues to develop and implement training and guidance plans for hospitals in the North Central region; complete the HIS software system and electronic medical records; promote the implementation of existing purchasing plans and policies to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment and enhance the effectiveness of financial management.

In the last 6 months of 2022, the Hospital will focus on constructing, renovating and upgrading a number of projects such as building a new 7-storey inpatient treatment area; expanding the Infection Control Department; expanding the Nutrition Department and Hospital Canteen...
